Our Mission

O-Town Compost seeks to become a key component of Orange County’s waste diversion infrastructure to help the City of Orlando meet its zero waste goal and extend the life of Orange County’s landfill.

About Us

Founder, Charlie Pioli, started his career in solid waste & recycling consulting, where he witnessed the egregious waste our country produces on a regular basis. Spurred to action, he started O-Town Compost, because he thought it'd be fun, and to give his neighbors a sustainable option to recycle their food scraps.

Scrappy but happy!

General Manager, Erin Schornagle spent her prior career working at SeaWorld, and pivoted to come divert food waste with us. She’s a special person, and a Jill-of-all-Trades.

Erin was born and raised in East Orlando, not far from the Orange County Landfill.

Erin loves the O-Town community!

Warehouse Manager, Stephen Howard, worked in food & beverage at many of the same hotels we’re collecting from today.

Born & raised in Japan, he brings a lot of hard-work and dedication making sure our buckets sparkle.

Heavily invested in the black gold market.

Erik Amnott, keeps our vehicles humming along as Fleet Manager. He comes from Fleet Farming, an Orlando urban farming non-profit, and grows a lot of his own food at home, as well as experiments growing in our warehouse.

Would rather be managing a fleet of bicycles.

"O-Town Compost was a proud participant of the Rollin's Rally business accelerator program in the cohort of Spring 2020."
